'63 R1 / Auto Trans / P Steering / No Air....reinstalled engine and transmission after rebuild with no problems....attached P Steering pump and Surge tank... at this point surge tank looked like it was sitting high....set the hood on and reached up (no radiator) to feel surge tank cap very close to the hood, could just slide a finger between them...Is this common???

It seems that there are "things" that are original to a particular car that aren't covered on the build sheet. Now to explain their existence they are slipped into the umbrella term "Transition Model". Is there a range of #'s that cover the "transition" models??? Or, how can you ID "factory installed" as opposed to previous owner applied during restoration????
