  1. Any suggestions for freeing up a frozen compresser? It worked when I got the Avanti two years

ago but wasn't used while I restored the car. Took the car to my mechanic for brake work and asked

that he check out the AC as well. He said it was frozen and the belt slipping. Guessed $1000

to fix. I'm thinking of removing the compressor and taking it apart to try and fix it. I think it is a YORK.

    Any manuals for this AC?

    Thanks

I'm thinking to buy these wheel but wonder if adapters are made to accomodate the front wheel disks.

Searching for wirewheel adapters yielded lots of adapters for the 4 1/2 " spacing but nothing specific

for disk brake cars. Hopefully some of you forum guys have advice on what and where to find

    proper adapters.

Thank you for any help forthcoming.

  3. That's true. Grant makes an adapter to ft the Avanti steering wheel up through 1970 before they went to the outside sourced steering column to comply with federal regulations. If you go to Grants website you can use their fit chart to get the correct number. Summit Racing carries them.

If you want the retainer and horn brush assembly for the original steering wheel give Jon Myer or Dan Booth at Nostalgic a call.

Thank you all. I'll call Grant tomorrow and see about an adapter.

  4. i can't help regards the parts but I am interested inwhat Grant steering wheel

fit your Avanti and why you want to change back to original. My 63 Avant wheel is

a basket case and it appears over $700 to replace it. Maybe a Grant wheel is the answer

    if it will fit.

    Thanks
