[Avanti R2 Automatic Transmission for sale]

All, I hope that this type of post is welcome here. I am an AOAI and SDC member for many years.

I have the original Borg warner automatic transmission from my 1963 R2 Avanti and want it out of my garage. I swapped it out for a GM overdrive transmission, and when I removed it it was working perfectly, with nice crisp shifts. It leaked a little bit when it sat unused as it often did. The car had about 70,000 miles on it when it was removed. It includes the flywheel, the torque converter, the fill tube, inspection cover and speedometer drive gear/cable. I also have the original starter and drive shaft if they are needed.

I'd like this to go to somebody who could use it. It is doing no one any good sitting here. I'd like $150 for it, I'll crate it at no extra charge, but shipping cost is up to you. Pickup is preferred. I live right by the Philadelphia International Airport.

[Problem with Engine Installation - '64]

Hi- I am in the process right now of reinstalling my engine after having it out and doing some work on all sorts of things. While clearance is tight, I am not experiencing problems. Are you using the original booster/MC? You cannot easily reinstall the engine with the shielding already attached UNLESS you remove the steering bell-crank, I have found.

You used the correct holes on the motor mounts (passenger side)

I have hundreds of photos of my disassembly and reassembly that I will share if I can help you. There is very little room to work under that hood!
