[proper radio removal]

Hi Avanti 4-door lovers;

The Cassette Player in my 1990 Avanti 4-Door Touring Sedan is starting to give me some problems and I want to change it out for a radio with a CD Player instead. The job looks simple until you get started.

The facade plate (velcro attached) comes right off. Then there is a series of forward facing screws which look as if they would allow the radio to slide right out. Unfortunately this isn't the case.

My fear is that the entire center console might have to be removed and I don't want to just whack away at it which may cause other problems.

Does anybody have a shop manual giving the proper procedure for the radio removal in the sequence of build (#48) I am driving. Later models just slide out, but mine won't do that. I would appreciate any help I can get on this subject, or how can I get a shop manual for the model build I am driving???

I am having a real problem trying to keep water from pouring into the cabin when taking the car through a car wash. I have tried to find where the water is supposed to drain and am having no luck whatsoever. I even had the seal replaced, but it still allows water to pour in. I thought the water was supposed to drain out to the ground, but that doesn't happen on my car.

Anybody else have or having that same problem, and if so, what did you do to correct it???? Or, maybe someone knows where the drain runs so I can try to locate it. Then, how does one clean it out?
