  1. Greetings From Lowell, Vermont.

I also have an 85 Avanti --- the very last Avanti with the original Studebaker frame.  Just today I took the car to a custom exhaust fabricator.

He will have no problem building a complete exhaust system for the car.  That would be my advice for anyone needing exhaust work on a

post Studebaker Avanti, as they are difficult because of the X-frame with minimum clearances. (referring to 65 thru 85 models)

  2. I am attempting to find out where I might find replacement window 'sweeps' for my 88 Avanti convertible. The window sweeps are located at the base of both door windows and rear qtr windows on the exterior of the window. The rubber on my window sweeps are completely deteriorated -- probably from exposure to the sun. I can only assume that these are probably not unique to the Avanti and were probably used on some other vehicles as well. Any information will be appreciated. Thanks, Lorin Warner email: lorinwarner@yahoo.com :)

  3. GREETINGS FROM VERMONT!

The window sweeps (the rubber strips located at the base of the widows to prevent water from going down inside the doors) are totally deteriorated on my '88 Avanti convertible. Does anyone have information as to where or what vehicles might have this type of rubber moulding on them? I suspect that these same moulding were used on some other brand vehicle. Thanks for any help.

  4. I am attempting to access the windshield wiper linkage on my 88 convertible. It has developed some slack in the linkage. After looking the situation over, I'm assuming the dash and steering column must be removed. To help in this situation I first removed the two front seats and am attempting to remove the console. Does anyone have any knowledge on how to get the console out. I have removed the screws, but it is 'tucked in' behind the lower part of the dash which appears to make it impossible to remove. Also.... How does one remove the air duct from both sides of the console?!?. It appears to be an almost impossible task --- just to get at the windshield wiper linkage. Any help will be truly appreciated.
