  1. AOAI Members - It is possible that I lost a gold men's ring at the Inn At St. Mary's during the recent International Meet.  It is a large men's gold service anniversary ring from AT&T with the years 1976  - 2013 noted on the ring.  It also has 7 diamond chips on the top.  If anyone located said ring, please respond to this post.  I have also contacted the Inn, but have not received a response.  Thank you!!

  2. Unfortunately, due to publication schedules, some things get finalized after articles are sent to print and in some cases, even the most obvious items get overlooked by Meet Chairmen. So here are a couple clarifications regarding the 2015 SDC International Meet in St. Louis.

First, although not included on current on-line registration forms and previously printed registration forms, there is a $10 late fee for any Meet Registration made after July 17.

Second, Judging procedures have been 95+% finalized. AOAI Avanti judging will be held on Weds, Aug 19 from 8:30 AM to 1PM and will be conducted via drive-thru judging as in Colorado Springs and Dover with the addition of electronic scoring. SDC judging will all be held on Thursday Aug 20 also via drive-thru. Electronic scoring may also be utilized for one Division as a test case. On Thursday, Cars will proceed to the Concours area and park in Divisions from 8AM to 9AM. At 9AM cars will begin drive-thru judging with Divisions scheduled thru mid-afternoon. There will be two judging lines. Each judging line will have stations for Checkin/Operation, Photo, Authenticity and Condition. A schedule of Division judging times will be provided at the Meet.

Third, regarding Tours. Tours that do not meet a minimum attendance number by July 17 may be cancelled. If you would like to participate in a tour, it is in your best interest to register for the Meet and the tour by July 17.

Fourth, the AOAI Banquet on Weds night will be Italian themed serving St. Louis Style Salad, Beef Mudega, Chicken Spiendini or Eggplant Parmesan with Herb Roasted New Potatoes and Chef's Choice of Seasonal Veggies with Tiramisu for Desert.

Fifth, the Ladies Luncheon on Thurs will be a luncheon with Mark Twain. Mark Twain has been called “the greatest American humorist of this age” and “the father of American literature”. The ladies at the 51st Studebaker International Meet ladies luncheon will be privileged to have lunch with “Mark Twain Himself.” Richard Garey is a playwright, poet and actor. He presents a one-man show as Mark Twain Himself. He performs on a regular basis at his theater in Hannibal, Missouri. Richard Garey combines his passion as a stage actor with his skill as a storyteller to bring Mark Twain alive with his wit and stories.

As of now there are over 400 hotel room reservations we are aware of and only about 150 Meet Registrations. So, if possible please make your Meet reservations soon. This will provide information that helps immensely with final Meet planning. In addition, we may save a tour and also avoid the late fee.

The Gateway AOAI and SDC members are eagerly waiting for the opportunity to welcome our guests. Look forward to seeing you in St. Louis.

In Lew's first photo, the gentlemen (and serial numbers) from right to left are Don Hart (RQB-3804), Jack Ammons (RQB-3815), Randy Cunningham (RQB-?), Mike Baker (RQB - 3825) and Larry Rembold (RQB-3810). According to John Hull's book "AVANTI The Complete Story", Steve Blake built 25 1983 "20th Anniversary Coupes". These identical black exterior / two-tone grey leather interior vehicles have a "euro-tech" look and are the first production Avanti's with composite in place of chrome bumpers.
