The hood release wire under hood has come off--and now the hood won't open. One side of hood is stuck down lower that the other side, so it is hung. We were told to pop rubber plugs out under wheel well and stick a screwdriver is the hole to pop hood latches, but we can't seem to get it to pop open

The hood is stuck on our 1963 Avanti--we were able to pop the plugs out of the wheel well, but cannot figure out how to pop the latches. If anyone has any pics or advice it would be greatly appreciated.
