I used part number 800340 and 800341 rear cylinders which I purchased from Studebaker international for my 1980 Avanti. Hope this helps

I don’t know what the light is for, but in my 1980 it comes on in the winter when the engine is cold and warming up. ???

I remove the center rubber bumper and install my plate there. I remove the plate and reinstall the bumper at a show.

I used this exact thing a couple of years ago and found really made things a lot easier

I had The Seat Shop in Houston Texas make my new covers. Did an excellent job. Mine is an 80 but the covers look the same as your picture.

I had a newspaper/print shop and am familiar with printing plates. This item appears to have been screen printed onto the brass plate. I wonder if it was something Stude used for promotional display at a dealer?

A customer where I work dropped off a brass plaque 11" x 8 1/2" which has a photo printed on it of a 1963 Avanti driving through a wooded area. The female passenger is looking out the window and smiling, and the man driving the car is wearing a suit and tie. The only writing on it is the Word Avanti and 1963. Anyone know what this is, what was it used for. Any info?

on my 1980 the motor was stuck. I couldn't turn it at all. I said a quick prayer, and wiggled it and it suddenly turned free. been working fine ever since.

how did you remove the old fiberglass insulation and glue

My son and I pulled the wiper motor out today. To access the nuts behind the dash required removal of the fake speaker grill on top of the dash. Requires small hands and arms to reach back into the opening to hold the nuts.
-
oh, I had already searched out a wench.
-
nuts, not screws
-
do i remove the fake speaker cover to get to the screws, or do i have to remove the side panel for the counsel

thank you

how do I remove the three screws that hold the wiper motor to the firewall on my 1980 Avanti? The screws just
turn and turn but don't come loose. Are there nuts inside the car behind the dash?

I decided that since removal of the motor required dash removal that I would try the 1/8 hole and pb blaster.
Drilled hole (after prayer) and started to insert pb hose, but noticed the previously stuck fan now rotated freely.
Turned on air, and motor worked fine. PTL!

My a/c motor has locked up and won't turn. How is the best way to remove this motor and what was it used on?

I talked to Dan Booth and he said I had the wrong "original" bulbs. He sent me a bulb kit
from his stock and now I have bright dash lights. The first ones I had were round and didn't
go into the gauge far enough to reach the prizms that distribute the light. The one Dan sent
me are longer.

I have replaced my dash bulbs with new original bulbs and also tried led bulbs. The dash lights are so dim I can't see them at all at nights. The speedometer has regular clear bulbs and it is very easy to see at night.

I have a similar problem with my 1980 Avanti ii. On my car the problem is the voltage in the s terminal wire to the starter solenoid is only 7 1/2 volts. If I jump the wire to 12 volts the starter will always work. I am presently tracing wiring trying to find where I have voltage drop. There is an old chevy trick to fix this using a ford (yea, i know) solenoid to send 12 volts to the s terminal on the gm starter. The wiring diagram can be found online.
