The 2001-2004 Avantis were the next generation AVX automobiles. Otis Tucker, a renowned fiberglass man, was retained by Avanti Motors in Villa Rica, Georgia to translate the AVX molds into working molds to be used in constructing the Avanti. The AVX molds had not been stored in a climate-controlled environment and were not useable as received by Avanti in Georgia.
The purpose of this manual, taken from original, hand-written and hand-drawn sketches by Tucker, is to identify the hand laid fiberglass panels used to convert a Pontiac Firebird to an Avanti Automobile. This manual also includes photos of a stripped-down donor Firebird chassis to reflect the disassembly and hanging points for the fiberglass body panels.
