brad Posted October 28, 2018 Report Share Posted October 28, 2018 The water pump. Nothing will flow until the thrermostat is open. Changing to a bypass thermostat will make a small change. Sorry no, although raising the idle speed will increase the speed of the coolant, it doesn't really help flow............. The answer here is #2, changing out the Chevy 'narrow neck' (mouth opening) thermostat to a 1968 Cadillac 'wide neck' unit (which fits the Chevy manifold and thermostat housing), will improve coolant 'flow'!
