Differential

Well at 93,000 miles the limited slip differential is going out on my '87. It's a 10 bolt 7 1/2" with an Auburn diff. that isn't rebuildable. For about $800.00 more than rebuilding the axle I can get a new 9" Ford or 12 bolt unit from Moser that will bolt right up. I can order it with the disc brakes already mounted.

Looks like I have my Winter project planned.

Finally a new post!!! There ARE others out there! Sometimes I feel like I am

all alone on this forum, searching for signs of life.....

Sounds like you have a plan, thats good. I dont know whats available, but it

seems like your options would be quite vast compared to the Studebaker

chassised Avantis. I agree, why rebuild it when you can so easily upgrade!!

You know ... the Monza inspired axle in my 1993 Camaro Z28 is a limited slip

and with 230,000 miles - still works! Thats quite impressive when you consider

that the fluid has been changed ONCE in those miles (at 39,000), and its got

the high torque of that LT1 infront of it, my lead foot, & the overall agreement

that the 4th gen Camaro axles are junk.

They will build a rear end any way you what. They keep G-body housings in stock in both the 9" and 12 Bolt so its available next day and is a bolt-in.

I am looking for a TT rear end for my 1971 Avanti II. Prefer a 3:31 gear ratio. Does anyone know where I can find one. George Wendell, Las Vegas, Nv. Avanti RQB 1600
