So profoundly sorry to hear about what's going on with Bob Palma....As someone else touchingly said....that man has always been a treasure for all of us Studebaker/Avanti enthusiasts.

At times, life can be very difficult.

Praying for you Bob.....Ed Capozzi

Bob Palma is a long-time well known guy in the Studebaker world though not as much with Avantis.  He’s long been a technical advisor with Turning Wheels…the Studebaker Drivers Club’s magazine and regular columnist in Hemings Classic Cars.  His dad was one of the last…if not the last…Packard dealers.

Last year during a routine health check up Bob received the news had had cancer which had already spread.  He’s been going through treatments and was just informed nothing is helping and treatments are being discontinued.  He’s been given 4-6 months.

I’ve known Bob for some time…one of the greatest guys you’ll ever meet and one of then most knowledgeable people on Studebaker out there…mechanically and historically.

The Studebaker world will suffer a huge loss that will be difficult if not impossible to fill.

Sad news indeed. It reminds us to cherish what we have right now. Good food, good friends, and good cars, family and faith. Whatever form it may take.

Besides being very knowledgeable about automobiles in general and Studebakers in particular, Bob is also a very good writer. This skill has allowed him to write many articles in various Hemmings publications, both on paper and on line.  His articles have helped to spread the word and increase knowledge about our favorite car make.

Bob is one of Studebaker's legends. Ed George and Bob Ashton rightfully recognized Bob as a Living Legend at the MCACN show in the Chicago area in November.  My prayers are with you Bob!
