Would make an interesting story to find out what it is, who painted it, and who now has it. Mike

Apparently it was a 1967 Avanti ll...There is more info on this deal in Avanti Magazine #116....I do not have that issue.

Avanti Motors once accepted an American impressionist painting as payment for a new Avanti ll.......

True?

False, it was not Avanti Motors.

Fremont F. Ellis traded his 1963 Avanti and one of his paintings to Ray Altman for his 1967 Avanti II.891296568_FremontEllis.thumb.png.d5cecd3b7c2516020c39e164f9e004c6.png

So, you don't feel the Altman family was connected with Avanti Motors?

You really need to brush up on your Avanti history Bobby!!!

I was just trying to clarify for you what I think that Bob meant.

Just like I had to clarify for you in Avanti Record that the #9 Avanti did not run 178.50 mph at Bonneville.

Now clarify this.

Since Nate Altman did not have a brother Ray how did this transaction occur?

Nate had two brothers Arnold D. and Herman S. Altman.

The family quite often referred to 'Herman'  as 'Ray'.....

I'm a bit surprised a knowledgeable fellow like yourself didn't know that bobby!

Is this all you have?

I thought you would have a definitive answer.

I wondered what "definitive" information you had in mind....Ray's social security number??

Isn't it sad that a simple, fun, trivia question can be turned into something argumentative when a responder's goal is to pick...pick...pick.... whenever he gets a chance.

Time for a break!
