Anyone know what the major difference was between some 1963 pre-production Studebaker Avanti R2 air filter housings and production housings? (Besides very early ones not being plated)

Wasn’t the bracket changed that secured it?

I don't believe there was a bracket position change...but something else on the housing definitely WAS changed!

Any other thoughts here?

The fitting for the breather tube hose was located on the side of the filter near the valve cover.

At least one prototype had no fitting for the breather tube hose.

Yes, you NAILED it!:)......The hose snaked up over top of housing...kind of clumsy looking.
