What should the correct arch on the leaf springs be?  I was looking at a car that they are totally straight. Thanks

No idea on the correct arch...however, I've seen quite a few Studebaker with leaf springs actually curved (sagged) into the opposite direction!:o

Thanks, I changed a set out in my 78 Avanti ll when I had it, what a job getting the front bolts out.

Yes...those pesky front bolts!!!...Last time I did that job I gave up with wrenches, and used a sawzall to cut through the bolts up tight against the bushing.:o

@Dunkin I just installed new HD leaf springs on my 70’. They sit flat. The original leafs had an inverted arch.

Passenger side I spent way too many hours trying to get the hardware free. Driver side I borrowed a hack saw and spent 15 minutes getting the leaf off.

Inverted, that is interesting. I guess there is a factory spec that shows how high the body should sit in the rear of the car, and a place to take the measurement. thanks for your input.
