I was wondering if someone knew off the top of the head who supplied Studebaker with their Avanti frames?

Budd ?  I think but don't quote me.

I have heard that name used before when talking about studebaker frames.

Personally I thought Stude would have made there own.

Except for the modified convertible frames used under the early "EX" prototype Studebaker Avantis,.....I'd go with Budd as the volume supplier of Stude frames during that time period.

Just an aside.........The frames used under the first prototype Studebaker Avantis were assembled by a company named Midland-Ross of Cleveland, Ohio....most, if not all of these early frames had a special tag attached indicating where they came from.:)

Hi Mark, my own '63 Avanti is #1379, built very near your #1400. In my humble opinion both these Studebaker Avantis were assembled on Budd built frames...Be well,  Ed
