A big $6.30.

I remember paying less than .25 per gallon in the 1968-'70 time frame when I first got my drivers license. That was at a no-name station, not a big oil company retailer. Then again I was only making $1.15 per hour washing dishes in a restaurant.

Correct, as usual. I remember those days, too. A gallon of gas cost about what I earned at work in 15 minutes. Zooming ahead to 2015, the cost of a gallon of gas is still equal to about 15 minutes working a minimum wage job. Maybe times don't change.

Was the .30/gallon price for regular?? Remember, the Studebaker Avantis required Premium, as stated on the red sticker on the chrome gas cap.
