RadioTom Posted January 7, 2012 Report Share Posted January 7, 2012 Hello Guys! I recently bought a 63 Avanti that'd been sitting in a barn here in western Washington for several years. The owner before the guy I bought it from swapped the tired 289 for a chevy 305 and auto tranny. Right now I am draining all the fluids and changing all the filters. Plan to upgrade the brakes with Jim Turner's front discs and re-plumb the lines, hoses, rear cylinders, etc. I have an electrical glitch somewhere and plan to re-wire the car myself since I am in no hurry and enjoy the experience. Was trying to get the header switch block down, but obviously there's more to it's removal than just the two screws on the face plate. Any ideas? Thanks! But if I remember correctly, once the 2 screws are removed, you just carefully pry out the plastic nameplate. Use something like a very thin metal ruler, gradually prying it out from each end. brad Posted January 21, 2012 Report Share Posted January 21, 2012 Once you get the plastic faceplate down, there is a piece of black paper under that, which needs to be removed.
