Pulling the header switch block

Hello Guys!

I recently bought a 63 Avanti that'd been sitting in a barn here in western Washington for several years.

The owner before the guy I bought it from swapped the tired 289 for a chevy 305 and auto tranny. Right now I am draining all the fluids and changing all the filters.

Plan to upgrade the brakes with Jim Turner's front discs and re-plumb the lines, hoses, rear cylinders, etc.

I have an electrical glitch somewhere and plan to re-wire the car myself since I am in no hurry and enjoy the experience.

Was trying to get the header switch block down, but obviously there's more to it's removal than just the two screws on the face plate. Any ideas? Thanks!

Once you get the plastic faceplate down, there is a piece of black paper under that, which needs to be removed.

You will then find two more screws holding the whole switch assembly and the padded surround.
