I have a complete passenger side Stude Avanti power window regulator & motor available.

It was functioning 'OK' when  removed last year when I converted my '63 Avanti to manual windows.   (Actually, I have BOTH sides available if anyone's interested)

I'm interested. Tried to send a PM but the  forum system said I could not.

  3. If your Avanti has an OEM  style M/C  ( single reservoir ) then  the switch is located at the end of the M/C..........look for two wires connected to it. IF it has a dual chamber MC it could be on the M/C as well, or be mounted somewhere below the M/C............follow the brake line down from the M/C towards a front junction block...........it could be in that area. OR, the hydraulic switch could have been replaced with a mechanical switch, and relocated to under the dash, where it is operated by the brake pedal "arm".

I'd stronley suggest that you acquire a Shop Manual and a Parts Book. The wiring diagram is included in one of them, I don't recall which. Once you get a wiring diagram, have it copied in a much larger size so you can actually read it.  OR, I recall there are vendors that have larger and color coded wiring diagrams available. Perhaps some here on the Forum can weigh in and tell you where you can buy one.

  4. Does anyone know this Canadian Member "doubledhotrods" ? I agreed to purchase some of the parts he has listed and after we agreed to the deal, he was to calculate the shipping so I could pay him. Since then "crickets". No communication. Sure would like to wrap this up, but I have no idea as to who I'm dealing with. Any help would be appreciated.

  5. Bill, I'll take some more photos and see if I can get you what you would like to see. Regarding the screws that you have commented on..........I do not have a present recollection regarding those screws, but believe that I would have replaced screws that were there. So, I believe the screws were original to the car.

As the the electric fuel pump..........It is an aircraft fuel pump and helps / eliminates vapor lock. It is located just below the tank, and is used in conjunction with the mechanical pump. It is operated by a momentary contact switch at start up, or when driving in slow, extremely hot driving. When it is off, the mechanical pump, will pull through the electric pump.

The rest of the car is in very good shape and took a 1st place Modified, Studebaker Powered, in St Louis in 2015.     R1, bored .60 over, balanced, big valves, AC, PS,PW PB Auto.,Corvette Disc Brakes front and Rear,  2 inch dropped KING PINS, Quick Steering, BIG Sway Bars, drives like a Go Kart.Recently had lunch with the original purchaser.

Might be a day or so before I get the photos. Stay tuned.

  6. Here are photos from my Avanti  63R1348  Hope these help you . I'll post them in two posts. IF you are wondering what that "thing" is hanging down in photo #2, it is an Inertia Switch, that cuts off the electric fuel pump if the car is hit. From what I saw in you drawings, I believe all of the pieces are in my car.

  7. Bill, I've owned my Avanti (63R1348) for 48 years and it has the original trunk carpet, and even though I tipped you to my purchase of the Home Depot Carpet last year, I've never gotten around to redoing the trunk carpet. But I will someday. As far as know all the pieces are there.

IF you would like photos or information regarding the original carpet in my car............just ask. More than willing to help.

BTW, one last answer I forgot, look for a Ford roll-over switch to turn off the power in case of an accident. Something like this but you can probably find them new .

I use these in my cars............go to Pull A Part, as I recall they are about $6.00 - $8.00.

These switches are found in Ford Trucks in the Kick Panels and in Crown Vics in behind the Left Side Trunk Liner, as well as in Mercurys and Lincolns.
