  1. Agreed but i put a new 160 MPH speedo in to replace the 85 MPH that it came with and it is just as dim at night.
  2. You guys must have better eyes than I do. None of these have been bright enough to read the gauges easily at night. I figured it was something about how the gauges were made since I have changed other cars to LEDs with great success.
  3. Looks like you got some of the rake back like the Stude versions.
  4. I have never found a red LED or bulb for the gauges that is bright enough and I have tried several. Good Luck
  5. So Steve How is that heater core working out after a year? Where did you get those angle brackets? Thanks
  6. Thanks. I believe that I have a spare and might install it
  7. Did not see any specifics about the motor part number but a good reference that I should have already thought of.
  8. Thanks. Any idea where to get a fan motor? I imagine that they are the same ones as used by other manufacturers. I would hate to pay more than it is really worth buying from a Stude parts place.
  9. I also would love to know how that works out with cooling the engine on a hot day.
  10. I have found these quite helpful on my 1980 other than some color discrepancies. Functionally they seem correct.
  11. My motor makes noise when it is started on a cold day. I was thinking to replace it if i can find one at a reasonable price rather than try lubricating the bearings. I figured they were sealed. As far as the coolant goes, I normally remove both heater lines on a car from the engine and blow air through one of them with the heater valve open to minimize and antifreeze mess. That helps a lot Are there any hidden bolts on the heater box or is removing it straight forward? Any other pieces need to get removed before to gain access? Thanks
  12. How difficult is that? If I have a new motor, can it be done in a couple of hours? Is the blower motor used by another car or do i have to source it from a Studebaker/Avanti source? THanks
  13. My heater fan squalls when it first starts if it is cold out side. I tried the old method of drilling a hole in one end and lubricating it through the hole but no change. I see 4 nuts that hold the fan motor housing to the firewall. How much more is needed to get enough access to change the motor? Does the AC need to be disconnected? Do the heater hoses need to be disconnected? THanks
  14. I am looking for the right front bumper section in good shape or one good enough to be rechromed. car is a 1980 Thanks
  15. I am looking for the right side A pillar stainless trim piece in good condition. car is a 1980 Thanks
  16. not certain but it stops great. It was a direct cross for the A1 Cardone 10-1379 according to the parts guy. Car stops better than ever. Bore Size (in): 0.940 Inch
  17. Found it. Can't believe i missed it earlier. THanks to all. Total of 17 fittings unless someone knows of more
  18. Good to know. I will check for that. I do not believe this pivot has ever been removed as the car only has 26K miles. Thanks
  19. I checked there I believe but will check again. THanks
  20. I was greasing the front end on my 1980 and found 16 fittings. Are there more? 2 on each upper A-arm 2 on each lower A-arm 1 on each king pin a total of 4 on the steering link arms 2 more on the linkage at the front frame member Am I missing any? Is there a way to grease the front pivot on the frame? I see no fitting there. Thanks
  21. Well after receiving the front spoiler I ordered back in February, I finally got around to painting and installing it. Installation was a lot easier than I anticipated although i did not used the side brackets that go on the sides of the radiator supports as I really do not think they are needed. In face the center support bracket would probably keep the spoiler from falling off. The bolts on the ends along with the center bracket are adequate unless i try to set a new speed record at Bonneville. I think it really gives a clean and finished look to the car and the Raymond Loewy would have approved. If I was building a custom job like maybe Dave Carnock did, I would probably mold it into the sides on the fenders to make a cleaner look
  22. Okay, here is what I ended up with. From O'Reilly Auto Parts. A BrakeBest Select NMC11143. New not a reman and came with the adapter for the bottom brake line connector
  23. That looks like it now if i can find someone who has it in stock! Thanks
