I have a lid but I need the base. If you have one available, I would be interested. Also, if you have the lid and base, i would be interested in that also. Please send a private message above or a note here. Thanks

aardvark, your 02' is an "Avanti", not Studebaker Avanti.

Wow, that is really great Bob. Thanks for sharing.

I hope "regnalbob" isn't blocked. He has a wealth of information to share.
Not sure who the moderator is but I think he/she should seriously consider blocking "mfg" for his poor forum decorum.

Spray can with high temperature engine paint after everything is assembled.

A union strike ? Just a guess.

Good luck Terry. It will look awesome.

The white with red interior R3 sold at auction a couple years ago. Not sure of the serial number.

Tom, your posts are very helpful and informative. Does that heater hose have a molded in 90 degree bend in it? Where did you get them? Any part number?
-
Peter, I have never seen that combo before. If the rest of the interior is tan/turquoise or all turquoise, I don't think the black dash will look good. Just sharing my opinion.

Maybe the motor mounts are too thick/high?

Auto parts stores generally have it on the shelf.

Chevy orange is a near perfect match. Supercharger and fan are same color.

The pins on most of the Studebaker repro scripts are off. Best to find NOS if you can.
-
Tom, wouldn't that be in "cm," not mm? If so, you better change the ad.
-
Jerry, I sent you a message yesterday. I'm interested in the steering wheel. Thanks
-
I'm still looking gang.

Thank you Bob. I left you a voicemail. Jeff

That forging number is correct for your car.

Yep. And the air cleaner on the R4 grew legs and walked away also in the museum.

Rick Allen's pictures show clearly stamped numbers just like the original blocks. They are NOT raised.

How many horsepower does it add at that rpm?

Pete, the soda dust particles are very fine and gets everywhere. If anything is left inside, cover it well.

I have independently thoroughly reviewed the evidence and 1016 is positively the Hot Rod car. Sometimes the stories that you hear all these years are hard to let go but, for accuracy and prosperity, 1016 should be recognized as the actual Hot Rod car, without dispute. I understand that 1025 is a unique car in its own way also and the owner should be very proud of it. Both cars are really cool pieces of history.

Mark, thanks for sharing your experiences. I am getting ready to restore my gas tank and would appreciate any additional tips you have.
