I work at a body shop, painting cars, and just started learning more bodywork. I know i can do this so I'm curious if anyone else has, how did you do it? Also stuck between 2 colors for my 83. Gunslinger Posted August 16, 2019 Report Share Posted August 16, 2019 Removing the sunroof and its mechanism and glassing over the top has been done I believe. I know a fellow (since deceased) who owned a body shop that had an '85 Avanti who wanted to get rid of his sunroof. He bought a NOS roof panel from Nostalgic Motors, cut the roof off his car and glassed in the new, solid roof. I saw the car and the work was outstanding. Doing that is an option. As far as color - How long do you plan on keeping the car? If it is less than five years paint it the original color, or something "normal" for the year of the car.
