Interestingly, the engine in R5089, the first production R3 Studebaker Avanti, was first rebuilt in.......?........

1) 1968........2) 1971.......3) 1974.....or.....4) 1980

I do not know why it would matter to anyone, even from a historical perspective.  To give you a guess, I will say 1974, just before the advent of unleaded gasoline.

I helped get it running for the current owner . They put a milder cam in it, when it was rebuilt in Chicago.
