Priester Posted August 10, 2017 Report Share Posted August 10, 2017 Probably answered this many times before but.....for a 1963 Avanti, is there a source for the truck striker, the "u" shaped piece that attaches to the trunk lid? Looked at a number of parts sites but only find Hawk and Lark strikers. Also is there a reinforcing plate that the striker attaches to? Our trunk lid only has two holes. Thanks for the help! 1963r2 Posted August 12, 2017 Report Share Posted August 12, 2017 John From memory the striker only has 2 holes they attach too but don't quote me as I haven't seen mine for a while. Hawk and Lark strikers will not work so you need to get the Avanti one. Not sure if they are available new but there should be a few second hand ones around. I have sent a quarry off to Myers to see what they may have. If no lick ther may try bending my own. Will waste a lot of rod but hey isn't that fun of owning these cars?!!
