So what's so special about Avanti ll RQ-A 0306?

I will take a stab at this.  It was built with a 350 instead of a 327.

Good thought, however, that's not the reason.:(( It was built with a 327.)

Any other thoughts here?

SWAG...it was the Altman car built for Bob Morrison of Molded Fiberglass...with a supercharged 327.

Interesting thought, however no, that isn't the Avanti!:(

Any other thoughts on this trivia question?

ANSWER!..........RQA0306 is the gorgeous 'Persian Lime' 1969 Avanti ll purchased early in its life by AOAI member Tom Ventris Jr......Before Tom purchased this Avanti it was a 'high-end' loaner car for a Ferrari dealer in Hollywood.....A few of the folks who 'wheeled' this car were football  great Tommy Mack and movie actor James Cann.:)

I believe the gentleman who owned RQA0306 is the same one who purchased my RQB1574 to replace it.  He lost his entire car collection in the fires...including some very rare and even one-of-a-kind vehicles such as the Studebaker Kart Hauler.

I remember hearing about that fire...That was a real shame!:(

he also lost one of the slickest looking customs ever made, (of course in my opinion), the norman timbs '48 buick streamliner. that one is in the process of being rebuilt!

Yep...the same guy who bought my Avanti.  He lost three dozen collector cars and motorcycles...and not all were insured.  He lost all that as well as his home.
