(actuating shaft through bell housing) part No 1540810 front flange. (Tube over input shaft for thrust bearing to slide on) Anybody have some spares? Thanks in advance, Dave... Gunslinger Posted November 23, 2011 Report Share Posted November 23, 2011 According to the parts manual, part number 526298 clutch release shaft and levers are for engines R-1023 (R1) and RS-1040 (R2) and earlier. That is pretty early production. For engines after those numbers the proper clutch release shaft and levers part number is 1550523. If your car is a late '63 that would be the part number you need.
