Avantidon Posted April 2, 2008 Report Share Posted April 2, 2008 FOR SALE 1983 EARLY BLAKE AVANTI This Ebony Black beauty was sold originally to Excalibur Motorcars LTD., Highland Park Il for use in the 1983 Chicago Auto Show. VIN: RQB 3614 indicates it was built very early in the 1983 production run, probably in December of 1982. This may be one of the last Newman and Altman assembled vehicles as build date is 12/82. Original mileage car with odometer showing 56,600 miles. COLOR: Ebony Black with Black leather Interior, Recaro Seats, Nardi Wood Steering Wheel and much more. EQUIPMENT: 305 CU. IN Engine, Auto Transmission, PS, PB, Tilt Wheel, A/C, Sunband in Windshield with tinted windows, Rear Electric Radio Antenna, Moonroof, Digital AM/FM/Cassette Radio and much more This car will make a very good daily driver or with minimal work can be made into a show car. Car is currently in 3+ condition. Torque Boxes (Hog Troughs) are solid and under carriage is clean. All chrome is in good to excellent condition with no flaws. There are some minor issues with the car: 1) It needs a Glove Box Lock; 2) Rear Quarter Window Latch is missing, 3) Slight tire rub on right front fender from new tires and rims just recently installed; 4) Needs to be properly cleaned and detailed. 5) A/C needs to be recharged. Original Wire Rims are part of the sale but they are not mounted on the car. Recent repairs made to the car include; brakes front and rear, rebuild of PS unit, new tires and rims, complete service and change of all fluids and complete tune-up. I had a 1980 Avanti II and sold it, I like the body style and interior. Also would you be willing to trade? I have a 1974 XJ6 Jag, original engine and mechanics had the interior reapolstered it has been garage keep for 15 years before i had to move it out of the garage last June. It needs paint and a good run though as far as fuel pumps, and tuning up.
