Avanti Splines!

The mainshaft of a Borg Warner T-10 four speed transmission (as used in Studebaker Avantis) has  ......?..... splines.

 

1) sixteen......2) eighteen......3) twenty.....or.....4) twenty-two

Hmmm........didn't get out the garage yet, but here is a 'pre-rebuild' pic of the input shaft on my '64  Daytona which would be the same as an Avanti. You can see about half of the input shaft, and five splines. So the T-10 would have about 10 splines on the input shaft. Are you sure you are not confusing the input shaft with the output shaft?
