  1. Rock Auto has the Bendix 228 part listed.... https://www.rockauto.com/en/parts/bendix,228,brake+shoe,1688
  2. #228 (Bonded) or #228R (riveted) are correct for a '77. That's the part number I used when I replaced them on my '77. Ned
  3. 1977 Avanti II for sale, located in Central TX. 73,000 miles. A/C works and is still R12 - I have a supply that goes with the car. Good chrome, glass and rubber. Interior is excellent, original and still smells new. Red vinyl/cloth. No sunroof, no Recaros, no luggage rack. Car was and is non-smoker. Engine is sound, starts well and burns no oil. TH400 shifts and performs well but does need a rear seal. Steve Blake HD sway bars. Steve Blake quick steering arms. Magnum 500's bought from Avanti Motor company in 1982. Original spare in trunk. Many parts have been maintained as needed over the years - brake booster rebuilt, new master cylinder, rebuilt wheel cylinders and fresh shoes/pads, newer GM A/C compressor (not rebuilt). Entire front end rebuilt with new kingpin bushings, bearings and pins; then repainted. All emission hardware still in place including converter. Needs tail pipes. WW Tires have good tread but should be replaced as they are 12 years old. Factory radio works. Frame, hog troughs and trunk cross member are sound. I purchased this car in 1981 with 51k miles on it. It has been garaged in TX ever since. In 1988 I hand stripped and repainted the car in the original Corvette Classic White lacquer. It is time for that job to be done again. With the car goes my supply of original parts and spares accumulated over the years. SOLD @ $12,000. For those keeping track. Ned Wilmarth RQB-2633
